Mega Nursing and Care has partnered with Shire Community Services, to provide flexible care
assistance to those who need it.
Shire Community Services provides a wide range of transport services to their local community for the elderly and disabled. Their services include the ‘Wellibus’ – a fully accessible door-to-door minibus service, providing transport from Wellingborough and surrounding villages to major supermarkets and town centers, as well as any other groups, clubs, or social appointments required.
As well as the ‘Wellibus,’ Shire Community Services provides a door-to-door Medical Car Service, helping the elderly, disabled, and people requiring affordable transport, to get to their medical appointments.
Our collaborative service provides clients in need of transport, with a trained carer to assist with any required tasks and/or activities, such as medical appointments, days out, shopping and many more day-to-day tasks.
Our carers are there to offer a reliable and compassionate helping hand, ensuring that those who require assistance can continue to enjoy a fulfilling and active lifestyle, while receiving the care and support that they need.
We provide this service at three different levels, depending on the requirements of care:
- Level 1: All standard care training – No clinical requirements/interventions during the visit. Basic fully trained carer support – dementia, health and safety, safeguarding, etc.
- Level 2: All standard care training – including catheter care, medication administration, BPR, and basic life support. Complex training/expertise, basic life support, catheter care, colostomy care, etc.
- Level 3: All standard care training + advanced training. Assistance with tracheotomy, peg administration, stoma care, epilepsy management (buccal midazolam administration), vital signs monitoring, and severe diabetes management.
